Re: Boot lid and moving shelf
I will try with this padding. Roof itself seems to be folding completely, tried to push it down and feels like its all way down. Will look at it tomorrow again.

Re: Boot lid and moving shelf
Fully folded the roof sits on bracket in each corner of the boot, if its firmly on these, then i suspect that either the leaver you describe is bent, has lost it rubber boot, or if all of that is correct it could be that the tabs on it simply arent pressing on to the micro switches properly. This has been cured in the past by either gently bending the metal 'leavers' on the micro switches, or by wrapping a zip tie around the tabs on the leaver you mention.

Re: Boot lid and moving shelf
ensure that the shelf piston moves freely, to check this you may need to release pressure. if it does then push it back has far as it will go now push the lever up and check it operates the micro switch.( this micro switch can be o/c or have a resistance of 5.9 k ohms. -unless this micro switch is activated the shelf piston and boot lid will not work( this switch tells that the ecu the roof is stored .Hope this helps
BEFORE YOU BLAME THE MICRO SWITCHES CHECK OVER AND OVER AGAIN FIRST(this micro switch does tend to stick on early fwired type switches )
have fun.

Re: Boot lid and moving shelf
I did checked all microswitches before and they all working fine. Today i had few mins so was fighting again and found out that there will be more work to do as some of previous owners glued roof seals with superglue xD so will take out all covers and will be checking everything at weekend.

Re: Boot lid and moving shelf
Hi
Ok, you say the micro switches are working fine . My next move would be to Connect a digital meter across the roof stored switch( red and black wires I think- this is the micro switch that says shelf stored ).operate the roof and see if the switch changes its state (i think it goes from a high resistance about 5.9 k ohms to short circuit when pressed.
I will give you the steps.
1. when roof stored it lifts a rubber foot that sits on the underneath of shelf.(if this is missing it will not lift the arm high enough to operate the micro switch.
2. This should lift a lever that operates the micro switch.( in the early models which have three wired micro switches fixed to Shelf tray)
3. This micro switch can have its position adjusted( do not adjust unless your sure it has moved.
A simple method to test if you have no meter. is connect a push button switch across the micro switch,
4, when the roof is stored in boot press switch.does shelf move.
5. if the roof fails to move and you are 100% sure this switch is working then I would change Roof ECU
6, if this fails to clear it i would check the direction valve (what should happen is when the Micro switch operates the direction of the pump is reversed piston is locked on the tray and lifts the shelf into place.
I HAVE IN THE PAST CONFUSED THE ECU and solved the problem by resetting the BSI and main ECU with PP2000 software.
Any way hope the helps, if you are totally switched on as to how it all works then please forgive me for teaching you to suck eggs .

Re: Boot lid and moving shelf
Yesterday i solved problem. I was out of my mind and looking for answer why this lever doesnt go high enough to trip microswitches. I checked everything and was fine. But then i looked at this lever again and found out this rubber on in was fitted upside down. Dont know who had so bright idea to do that haha but sorted. Thanks guys for your help.

Re: Boot lid and moving shelf
HI guys
I read all your conversations few times and tried every trick with my parcel shelf with no luck...
roof opens fine and boot lid closes and locks fine ,,,,yet parcel shelf does not close and system keeps beeping while driving with open gap of the parcel shelf.
hydrolic piston is working perfect... checked all micro switches.. rubber pad on lever is in correct position ..
there is a triangular box containing 3 micro switches to the left of the hydrolic cylinder ..two of them have metal levers to activate them and the third is activated by the rubber padded lever by means of a metal pin that moves up and down,,,,,,I checked and examined this switch , it is doing the normal clicks no sticky parts in it and seems to click when the padded lever is pushed up....
can any of you good guys help me solve this mystry
car is 2004 206cc
many thanks

Re: Boot lid and moving shelf
If they are clicking when they should, then test for continuity with a meter. You should see them go open circuit / closed circuit when operated.

Re: Boot lid and moving shelf
Happy ending
I removed the hydrolic cylinder ....I bleeded few times ; immersed
one end of it in a cup of hydrolic oil then pulled the pin out to fill it with oil....I repeated this 3 times to rid any possible air bubbles,,,,,,
with the cylinder full of oil and pin all the way out....I fitted the two hydrolic hoses then pushed the pin inwards to be able to put it back in place,,,,
I closed the pump with the hexagon tool
here we go all working 100%

Re: Boot lid and moving shelf
Well done and thanks for letting us know the outcome.
All to often people come on here because they have an issue, we give them some advice and pointers and we never hear from them again. So we never know whether our advice was right or not, or even if they sorted the problem.
So thanks again for the feedback.

it is the worst car I ever bought will get rid of it asap and never go for European cars again
they are too complicated their parts are a ripp off , and too expensive to fix ...nothing is like a TOYOTA or MAZDA
