Could it be the ignition switch then?

I still reckon Starter Motor.

However it could be immobiliser transponder ring (used to be a problem with early 206's)

But have a read of this too:

I know it is not my money, but if it was - my money would still be on the Starter Motor.

Got a guy coming to look at it tomorrow so fingers crossed, he seems to think starter motor too, so looked at prices for those and they are not too bad as it happens, will keep you posted...
