As long as water isn't falling out of the sky, the roof can be down.

Re: More roof woes
Ok... So here is what happened with my boot! Due to work and life etc we did not get a chance to go try your latest suggestions in daylight, we tried in the dark but it was tricky seeing what we were doing. So for weeks we had the music turned up and we tried to ignore the constant beep while we slowly faced up to the fact that we might have to pay someone to fix it. Then yesterday we had a day off together and I insisted we take two screwdrivers down to the car and have one last try before taking it to an expert. We opened the boot and de pressurized a little more than last time as suggested, when I went to move the J shaped locker into place with my screwdriver on the left hand side something looked different and I realized that somehow it had latched itself together again! The other side was still not latched so we tried moving it with the screwdriver which was kinda working but every time we tried to shut the boot it would pop back out. Getting frustrated I pushed on the boot from the outside and said arghhh why won't you stay shut' and click the boot just seemed to clip into place! We then drove down the road and the beep had stopped and the problem was fixed. I can't tell you how or why this worked as one side seemed to have fixed itself and all the things we did on the other side we had done many times before but with no joy. The only thing I can think is that we had not de pressurized enough! I'm not sure if this has also fixed the roof issue but its winter now so I'll cross that bridge next year! For now I'm just happy to have stopped the dreaded beep! Thank so much for all your help and suggestions everybody! Good luck with yours Olly!

Re: More roof woes
Good to hear you have this resolved Tori, well done for perseverance in the face of adversity
I jhave always found that shouting at it does help.
Dont know what 'the other roof issue' is but personally i would be trying a full cycle of the roof mech now, as that will reset everything and put you to a status quo with the system.
Of course is the other issue was that the roof stopped 1/2 way or something, it might be better to accept it for now and have a car thats watertight and beep free for the cold months.
