Think all 2.0 engines had the filter down between engine and rad.

If it was MADE late in 2001, it should be EOBD compatible .. but there's no telling what Peugeot did and may have used up the parts they had in the spares bins and it's the early PSA hybrid OBD system, or made your car and simply not had it registered for a few months.

Coil Packs should be same on all 137 and 138 bhp 2.0 engines so you don't need to find a CC specific one .. GTIs had them too.

That's useful to know. Lot more 206 GTI's online breaking to be fair.

I think it's worth fitting a second coil pack to double check this one isn't knackered. If it is, then I would warn everyone against £55 Lemark coil packs. I can imagine the OEM ones aren't that cheap, but there's a reason why.

Ummmm dunno about that. Kind of depends what you're buying in my experience.

Going buy that coil pack

Why don't you test it rather than guess?
Cheers Col.

How could I test?

Bought the coil pack anyway, only to find out that it's a SAGEM and apparently SAGEM coil packs are known for blowing up ECU's ?

Is this actually a thing?

Measure the resistance going into the coils, or very basic test is to fit the plugs into the coil pack, earth them, and see if the all give a good spark.

OK, I'll do that tomorrow. There's a temptation to fit this pack and see if it fixes the problem, but then I Don't want to leave it now that I've heard it's a SAGEM And they blow ECU's up. What a weird situation.

If it does turn out to be the coilpack I could buy a Valeo from EuroCarParts I guess?

If it doesn't, then I'm out of ideas. The plugs are brand new. The coilpack will have been changed. Totally out of ideas.

I think it's only SAGEM with NGK plugs that cause problems, but it is a while since I looked ... and the reason I fitted Bosch plugs.

Try google, it may throw something up or search on peugeotforums.com and 206info.co.uk which are more generic forums.

While you are on those other forums look to see if someone in your area has PP2000 and get the cars fault codes read .. much better than swapping out expensive parts one by one only to find that they are not the issue .. or buy PP2000 and Lexia-3 cables, stick it on a laptop and do it yourself!

Very tempted buy a Peugeot Planet tbh. It seems like money well spent.

Mine paid for itself many, many times over .. every trip to the dealer would have been £80-£100 .. even specialist charge £40-45 a time now.

I'm shocked why it's so expensive tbh :D As a VAG user, the cables are about a fiver online haha.

Anyway, there's one on eBay for £89 i'll probably get that ordered now.

Expensive because Peugeot decided to put some in the ecu and the rest in the bsi unit. And because they are French and hate everybody ... ;-)

Sounds like I could make a profit when I sell mine ... ;)

although that won't be soon while we still have the 1.4 hdi hatchback. No more CC :-)

So an update. I went ahead and changed the coil pack. The car is driving better which is great

BUT

I'm worried this is the dreaded hydraulic tapper issue. It's only when cold (1 degree) and it's suffering all the symptoms.

Anyone know the models affected and what year?
