31.5mpg is probably all you can expect. my 1st CC averaged around 31.4mpg, the 307 2.0GLX that i had for a month was about 2mpg lower and the current CC if driven pretty fast, e.g. quite a lot of 100mph trips gives 31.4mpg. the now i'm taking it a bit easier and sitting at 32.8/33.2mpg but that is using optimax (which isn't much good).

my last 206 1.4LX also gave me 40mpg - i checked it just before i traded it in.

Mine got up as high as 44.7 mpg cruising at a steady 60mph Widening work Gatso's on M2/A2 to blame but this drops to 36 mpg when in towns.

Andrew I wouldn't be too paranoid after those last comments your fuel consumption is bang on par with mine. Done 10000 miles so far and regularly check consumption. The only way I've managed to get 35/36 ish mpg is to drive like an old granny (apologies to any old granny 206cc drivers on this forum !).

Andrew, Dont expect the dealer to do anything, mine was doing 22mpg and I was told 'that was within acceptable limits'. Now it can vary from 22 to 42mpg for the same journey!

Oops read this post too last, i have a 1.6 old spec and had it for almost a year and i do approx 300 per full tank, So i think yours is quite normal. On my last car also a 1.6 Bravo, i got a similar consumption. Though i once got 410 miles to a tank, but that involved a long drive down the M1 to Reading.

The dealer agreed it was not very good, however if the computer says its okay they can't touch it. I await the outcome :rolleyes:
