Rubber seals

I use a silicon based spray that I bought in halfords to lubricate the rubber seals around the roof and windows..

Its in a yellow can. Called Rubber and Nylon Lubricant.. the bar Code number is 015025724546

Now there is no noise

just read about you using vaseline on the seals, don't know if you are aware but I aLways thought vaseline would rot the seals because it is petroleum based

Please tell me if thats not the case.

Those silicon based sprays are good but only last a number of weeks before you have to re-apply :sad:

Just applied the "yellow can" lubricant from halfords so will see how it goes. Got some very strange looks from neighbours as I lowered the roof - lol. Will update soonn - good news i hope!!

I've been using the Halford's stuff for over a year now. Seems to work fine particularly if you're not stingy.

Hmmm - I am not sure I am applying it right. I wiped it along the roof seal and down the window seals but after just 2 days it started making the good old squeaking noises again. I did put quite a lot on as well.

I usually reckon on it lasting a week or two but that may be because I can't hear the squesks over the stereo.

I bought from my dealer so called "dry-silicon" (don't know if that's a right word in english). My dealer has used it in to my car and it helped. But it last about week

Silicone leaves nasty marks in windows, but dry-silicone doesn't do that
