i would class lowering as nothing major as the only think imo that it does is make a visual difference to the car.
AXA don't cover lowered cars so THEY cancelled MY policy without compromise. i could just see me not telling them then having a claim - do you think they would pay out ?

Thanks guys, for all your input.
I think I'll play safe and tell the insurers what I have in mind. I can't imagine they will increase the premium, as the mods don't affect performance in any way, and I'd hate to find out one day when I need it most, that my cover is invalid. Apart from the financial misery I'd be in, the police wouldn't be too chuffed if they happened to get involved!

Any excuse to get my top off!

lowering the car does sorta increase performance .... ( ihad this debate with direct line a while back) ... the reason being the car handles stiffer, hence you'll more likely to throw it into corners etc at faster speeds and soo more likely lose it on a corner and find a handy lamppost to stop you ....
if you had a standard car and a lowered car on a track, same driver ... the lowered car would post faster times as it's able to get through the corners faster ... hence increasing performance ...
hence direct line wanting an extra 70 quid a year for a lowered cc
