Most bids on e-bay auctions happen in the last few minutes. Best bet is to put a high bid in right at the end (talking less than 1 minute here!)

Doesn't it run a thing where you enter your maximum bid, and it bids up to that right at the end?

I think in online auction term they call these 'snipe' - there's nothing worse than thinking a bid is in the bag, only to get sniped and lose the auction in the last seconds, it perfectly legal coz your proxy is low, but damn anoying neverless coz you have no time to response if you really like the items.

Biante in Perth, Oz (will do mail order) still have black and silver in stock with Caymen Green still (supposedly) to come.

Blue sold out but more ordered...

Hi fellow Pugphiles,

I have just got off the phone from a place that is taking orders for 1:18 scale 206CC models with apparently greater detail than the discontinued GATE models (ex. Biante) and available at twice the price (approx. $A80).

I've put my name down for an Aegean Blue one. It will have the opening roof, boot, doors and bonnet.

The place is:

Model Cars Too
152 Clarence Street
Sydney NSW 2000 Australia

They're not on the net, but their phone number is (61-2) 9290 2299.

Hi Michael,

I'm curious, do you know what brand they are?

Another thought, did you check your Peugeot dealer for models? When I picked up my (real) Pug, I got a catalogue of all sorts of Peugeot goodies, all available through dealers. I remember seeing a 1:24 model in there.

Hi Steven,

No, I don't know what brand they are - but the retailer did say that they had more detail than the other brand did. So, that's got to be a good thing.

By the way, I understood that the models sold by the dealerships were smaller (1:24 vs. 1:18) and the boot & roof don't open!

I guess we'll wait and see.
Cheers,
Michael

The model to get is the Official twin 206 CC box from Norev. It comes in a big display box that has an Aegean Blue and a Caymen Green 1:43 MY02 2.0 CC with working roof.

I've got a quote from a guy on eBay for 49 Euro and 15 Euro postage. Think thinking about it.

Anyone else interested? Maybe we can save a bit on postage.

Steve - apparently, the manufacturer is "Autoart" for those $80 jobs.

Omak - 1:43 must be Matchbox sized ? Do you have any pics of these ?

Michael

No. 1:43 is a good scale to collect. It's bigger than matchbox cars, but it's not too big which allows very fine details, eg a perfect Mercedes Benz badge! All the models I collect are this scale - mostly from Autoart and Minichamps.

I've already bought a 307 CC in 1:43!

Hi Omak,

Is that an 1:43 Aegean Blue 206CC in your pic ? Was that by Autoart ?

Looks fine. Do the boot, roof, bonnet & doors open ?

Is that the one you sourced in Germany ?

Sorry for all my questions. I have an empty space on my desk at work that is begging for a scale model !

Michael

What costs are involved if you're looking for someone to make a joint purchase from Germany ?
Cheers,
Michael

It's made by Norev.
I know the roof works and hence the boot opens, but I dont' think anything else opens.

I'll ask the guy in Germany how much is postage for 2 sets.

Yes it is an Aegean Blue 2.0 CC, but it's MY02, ie without full colour coding like your MY04.
