As i was parking up today mine cut out. Just had to restart it. I've also noticed that the enigine does sometimes need a boot on the accelerator to stop it from going sluggish

Lyndon,

No further forward with the immobiliser fix. They ordered the wrong part - now there is a surprise !!!!

As if they hadn't annoyed me enough yesterday. It should be ready on Friday, but they have been told I can't collect my car on Friday and I will be keeping their courtesy car until they deliver my car to my house at a time that suits me - due to the hours i am working for Xmas, my times won't suit them.

But at the end of the day, they say they want their car back - the ball is in their court  They either do what they are told or I keep the courtesy car until it is convenient for my to collect my car.

What fun !!!!

To add to my many new postings today after finding your wonderful site... I too have had (although only once) the complete cut out - well almost - all the dials dropped to zero and all warning lights lit but bizarrely the engine didn't cut out. Spookily I was on the way to the Peugeot garage when this happened so just added it on to the ever increasing list of problems ...

A new record?

My eagerly awaited 206cc arrived today after a wait of 8 months. I looked round the car, roof worked beautifully, signed the papers and offered to run the delivery guy to the station. Guess what? Key in ignition, engine turning over, but no action!

Only time I saw my new car in motion was on the back of the tow truck. It had 34 miles on the clock - the distance from the showroom to my home. A new record?????

What are my chances anyone?

I am really sorry to hear that.
I understand your excitement with getting the CC and can only hope that it sorts itself out quickly.
Keep us posted with what Peugeot say!

I suppose it beats my record of 21.5 miles as at least I drove those miles myself. It was a fault with the starter motor and after 3 weeks they finally managed to get a new one, the car drives like a dream. All is forgiven (almost). The car made a noise the wiper tried to work and then it beeped and died. I think the wipers went on as It was raining when it died and the auto wipers were on.

I also have the obligatory leaking roof. It would not be a 206CC if it did not have one.
Hopefully Peugeot have got their act into gear, but if you have problems with a delay in getting the starter motor from your dealer, let me know and I will tell you who I shouted at at peugeot UK as It arrived 2 days later.

Hopefully all goes well.

Will

i think this might be due to oil
when i first got my car it never did that
only when i started using mobil 1 did it start the difficulty in starting
read it somewhere else too
see what oil we are all using
15-50 they said is too heavy
anyone know about this?

Apparently my new car which is now back at the dealer has been diagnosed as having a faulty ECU. The replacement part is not in the country and will take about a week to arrive here from France.
Meantime the dealer is loaning me a standard 206.
Let's hope this is the correct diagnosis as I wasn't convinced that they were sure this was the problem!
I will keep you posted and thanks for your suggestions so far.

Tell them you want something better than a standard 206. I hit the roof after my dealer gave me a 106 quicksilver for 4 days. This time I have the After Sales Manager's Rover 75 2.0SE V6 while my CC SE has been on a 9 day holiday to the dealer. It might make me look about 60 but at least I have a car in line with the value of my own that I demanded.

Mine cut out yesterday - I was braking and steering at the same time (slowing down on the approach to a roundabout) so brakes and steering died! Eeeek. Dumped the clutch and it jumpstarted back into life, just in time to miss the brick wall dead ahead

No, and this thread is rather old. This is a forum for past and present 206cc owners and for people who may be interested in the 206cc. Why, do you have a problem with your car?

Please help. i bought a 206cc 1.6 model 2003 last august and my car's engine is cutting out. As i noticed the problem is common but did anyone found any cure? The engine cuts out when i am driving with low kilometers/hour (20-30) and usually on turns when i have neutral transmission while i want to break and go down a gear. Anyone has a solution? i am desperate and very worried.please help me

Took my 206 cc petrol 1.6 '55 reg in for a service and it cut out when the mechanic was taking it for a test drive. This had happened to me before - usually at busy junctions - not nice. His instinct was to replace the ignition coils?? (cost about £90) but no cutting out since.
