bet you would wash the 'love of your life' more often than that.
I am having the SupaGuard treatment done on my new one. Same as the current car and Melanies. This is the same sort of thing as the one you are on about. 1 year down the line with my car and I am still happy that it keeps the inside and outside clean.
It is costing me £150 inside and out and is done by my dealer as it is now a Peugeot accessory.

I gave my car back to the dealer for another 9 days or so yesterday and told him if it isn't fixed properly when I get it back, I will be rejecting it.

Actually, mine isn't THAT bad - wish it was on the passenger side instead tho
Maybe the hollow in the seal was full? So I left some loo roll stuffed up the clips and they were SOAKED for a couple of days but have been bone dry since mid-week - and it's been howling with rain down here.
I used some silicon gloop along the seal at the top of the windscreen and it might have done the trick. Famous last words. Keep you posted!
I have the same problem about dirt because I won't trust sending my baby through the nasty old car wash. I subscribe to a product called Diamond Brite. It's the usual sort of extra clear coating protection product they spray onto the car. It's guaranteed for 6 years and they inspect the car each year to ensure the product is still sound. It claims to prevent a great deal of stone chipping but more important to me, it does seem to allow the majority of the dirt to literally "run off the car" when its raining and therefore not stick solid. Afterwards my black paintwork looks pretty clean without back breaking washing. I now only need to wash my car once or sometimes twice a month at most (a cold water hose on the car). Its not cheap, I paid £230 INC vat but consider its worth the labour savings over the next six years. As we know there are many variations of this product, with Peugeot producing their own. I'm mentioning it because i've been happy with the product now for 6 months. I purchased Diamond Brite after hearing a number of people raving about having used it on their mercs.
A good tip
I also use a Hydra Wet Blade (bit like a
window cleaners rubber blade) its soft and protective because it's made of silicon and allows the water to skim off the car without the time consuming effort of leathering it off. I bought that through the same Diamond Brite source.
If anyone is interested I subscribed to Diamond Brite through a local operator in PeaceHaven E Sussex Tel 01273 585353. I also know this operator has been in the business for a number of years. I'm sure they would help or let you know of an operator near to you.
the same type of balde can be bought at my old favourite COSTCO. Its about a fiver. Autoglym charge about £12 for the same thing made by the same company.

Like the sound of the treatment, can you only get it applied to new cars or would I be able to get mine (6 months old) done?
Has anyone experience of which is better, Diamond Brite or the Peugeot treatment? Do I need to stick with Peugeot to prevent my warranty from being invalidated?
I've had no experience with the Peugeot product. It sounds like both products work well, and yes, you can have diamond Brite protection at any point.
I think I went for Diamond Brite bacause of a number of recomendations, also because it had a longer guarantee (6 years Diamond Brite - 3 years Peugeot) also Diamond Brite inspect the car each year to ensure the product is sound and no chips develop.
Diamond Brite give you FREE top-up cleaning protection fluid if you want it and you can literally throw this over the car with a bucket once a month. This gives added protection but more important to me, the fluid cleans every speck of dirt off my alloys with no effort whatsoever (and its vegetable based, therefore friendly to paintwork).
If you intend to replace the car after just a short period, as Rob says, the Peugeot product seems cheaper and more cost effective. I was told by my dealer the 3 year Peugeot guarantee would be limited to just 2 years if bought 2 weeks after the car was used on the road. Of course this may have been sales pressure, but I would check the guarantee period with your 6 month peugeot first for peace of mind.
I would say it's would be worth the haggle if Peugeot tried to reduce the warranty period and their approach to this may also vary between dealers- perhaps shopping around also.

Thanks for your help. At the moment, Diamond Brite is just edging ahead. My Dad knows where I can get the car Diamond Brited (yet another recommendation from a Merc driver!) but I'm having no luck finding out where I can get the Supagard protection. I emailed the local rep yesterday but have had no reply. If they don't want the business...!
I will do, I was wondering if their was a similar product for alloy wheels as they're bound to get filthy! The car's booked in for 4 March, gives me just over a week to save the cash!!
some of these paint treatments can when applied to the wheel become sticky due to the heat from braking. If this happes then the brake dust sticks and makes a real mess. It happened to my dads car so it took me ages to clean his wheels.
Hence why I stick with the Autoglym (not again I hear you cry ) instant tyre dressing - 5 years and a total of about 150,000 miles on our cars and not a problem with it.

Rachel, I think Robs got a point there! Never thought about any adverse effects from having the wheels sprayed or what may happen were the spray to settle onto the disc (being partly exposed between the alloy spokes). Thankfully I haven't yet experienced any particular problems.
For cleaning the alloys I use the free 12 months Diamond Brite car shampoo fluid (next to the conserver bottle in a cardboard box) they should give to you after treatment of your car. It seems to be a vegetable/soap based product. I've now had gleaming alloys for almost 6 months for free with no problems and next to no effort. It really cleans them up a treat without costing anything. Rob has also mentioned in the Forum he uses Autoglymn tyre dressing product which seems to work well for him.
Disclaimer (honest, I don't work for, neither do any of my family work for, or receive any form of commission from Diamond Brite etc - unfortunately).
