There is a limit to how many pics you can post, but what I do is host them elsewhere and link to them. You could use photobucket or similar, or even facebook.

Re: Toasted 206 return to former glory
I might have a bit of a clear-out of some of my older or less relevant pics - thanks for the advice.
It's been a full weekend on the car(s), and massive progress has been made.
On Saturday I was able to verify that the black 206's ECU & BSI work in the donor car. This was the first time I'd had an engine running with them, and was a massive confidence boost. It meant that it was worth pressing-on.
So that's exactly what I did - I cracked-on with gutting the black car of it's incompatible wiring loom. I want to still have the possibility of selling the blue one in running condition later, so it will be a straight loom swap. Then I can look into ECU/BSI options at my leisure for it.
It took a while, but now the main loom is all installed in the black car, along with the rear half of the grey interior.
I "just" need to get the engine wiring looms swapped over, and the rest of the interior back into the black car, and it SHOULD run.
The light at the end of the tunnel is in sight, and this time it isn't just a bloke with a lamp bringing me more work!!!
PS Yes Sue, the new one IS a 1.6 - it had to be as similar model as possible in order to ensure that I got compatible wiring in it.

Re: Toasted 206 return to former glory
First thing this morning the car still had no heater matrix and much of the engine wiring loom was disconnected. But now:
It LIVES!!!
I replaced all of the facia, centre console and steering column this morning, then got on with the job of replacing the bog standard interior with the grey leather Allure interior one (it looks great by the way).
After that I finished the engine wiring (and an errant PAS pipe), then gave it a try. Quite quickly it became obvious that it wanted to run, but very badly. I flattened 2 batteries getting it going, but with the help of jump leads and my nice powerful diesel MG it gradually became more stable until it would idle on it's own. Heaps of error codes on Pug Planet, but I cleared them all and most didn't come back.
A consistent problem was the O2 sensor in the exhaust manifold, so I replaced it with the one from the blue Allure which looked almost brand new, and it started to run almost perfectly. I've since taken it out for a bit of a test-drive, and it runs OK for a while, but then it starts to misfire. I get a few beeps from the comms unit in the steering column, and it says "catalytic converter failure" and "anti-pollution fault". But if I clear the codes it drives fine for a while again. I think I may need to replace the coil pack.
All other electrical systems seem to be fine. The windows were an issue for a while, but removing the plug from the window switches and plugging it in again fixed the problem.
Lisa is more bothered about the mileage it's now showing. When I tried the ECU and BSI in the blue Allure, it update the stored mileage with what was showing on the Allure's instrument panel. It's now passed that back onto the black one's instrument panel - so it's gained 24,000 miles in an instant! Does anyone know if I can use PP2000 to reset it back to what it's supposed to be?

Well done! You certainly have loads of patience Enright.
Hope you can get the mileage problem figured out now.

Re: Toasted 206 return to former glory
I took a few pics this morning to show how good it looks with it's new leather. You can also see the poor, sad donor in the background, which is now in desperate need of wiring and a complete interior! (It won't have to wait long)
There won't be many more changes to the appearance now. just clear out the boot (again!), and if possible, see if I can get the sill plates off the blue Allure intact to fit to the black one.

Re: Toasted 206 return to former glory
...and now it's gone.
"Pardon?!?", I hear you say!
Don't worry, I haven't sold, lost it or had it stolen - it's gone for its MoT.
I have simultaneously been repairing a Nissan Figaro (puke) for my niece, and it was away having some bodywork done. Yesterday the Figaro was ready to be collected, and I remembered that the garage that was doing the work also do MoT's. The CC needed a few bits doing, like its windscreen and a couple of tyres changing in preparation for this, oh and the air-con re-gassing, but they said that they could squeeze it in and do the lot. So it made sense to drive there in the CC, and back in the Figaro (with obligatory bag on head).
Anyway, fingers crossed.
PS I got the mileage sorted. A local contact suggested that I put “mileage correction Nottingham” into Google. The resulting quotes ranged from £70 up to over £170, but the £70 one was from an ex Peugeot mechanic so that’s who I trusted to do the job.
Note to all: NEVER try your ECU/BSI in a higher mileage car without swapping over the speedo at the same time, or everything simply adopts the highest mileage, which is then expensive to correct.

It passed. No unexpected nasty surprises - just the replacement screen fitted, 2 front tyres (which I'd already got), and a headlamp beam alignment. £100 all in - well chuffed.

Re: Toasted 206 return to former glory
...and just to round off this thread, it's now Lisa's turn to be well chuffed. Or rather it was on Sunday, which ended up being official handover day.
There were a couple of teething issues which came to light during my shake-down runs last week:
The first was an evil misfire which set fault codes and lit the engine management light (a bit scary in a traffic jam on the M1), but after a couple of restarts this seemed to calm down. I can only guess that the ECU was learning the engine parameters and needed to adjust things accordingly.
Also the fuel gauge gradually plummetted to the bottom, and refused to go back up again even when I put £25 of petrol in! It took brimming the tank for it to spring back into life. Maybe the float was stuck.
All that remains now is for me to get the aircon system re-gassed, repair the glovebox lock, and touch-up a couple of very minor bodywork issues that were already there. Oh, and put the blue donor car back together and flog it for spares/repair!!!
