Hi all
My 51 plate, 206cc, 2.0 seems to have very poor fuel economy at the moment and getting worse. Before I take it to the dealer for diagnosis, I was wondering if anybody else has had a similar experience with their vehicle and if so, what was the diagnosis and cost of rectification.
Kind regards rich

What figures are you getting Rich? What sort of motoring are you doing? Has it got worse recently. if so what were you getting mpg wise before? What fuel are you using?

Anyone else out there with a 2.0 litre 206cc who can give comparative consumption figures please? 20 mpg around town?? Is that about normal for a 2.0 litre? It does seem a bit heavy.
As for obvious checks:- Check for brakes sticking on. Check condition of air filter and replace with a new one if necessary. Check fuel system for leaks.
We have a 1.6 and average over 40 mpg overall ourselves.

I do not ever recall getting anything less than 220 miles out of a tank, which I guess is about 27 MPG. Thats from my 2.0L doing short journeys around town and being driven particularly badly. I should add that the MPG for the 2.0l seems to change dramaticly depending on the type of driving and fuel. 95% of the time I use a higher octane fuel and use high quality fully synthetic oil in my car and so this may cause a variation.
