going back to my recently purchased 2005 206 1.6 hdi with 20k on clock, noticed a black sooty substance gathering on the top of engine, took it to local independant peugeot mechanic and turned out to be 4 holes in the inlet manifold ( plastic ), haven't got car back yet still waiting for part, i am so gobsmacked at this how can holes develop? is this a faulty part? i am beginning to go off peugeot's allready, £80.00 + vat + labour, anybody had same problem.

got car back cost me £350.00, the 4 hole s mentioned in earlier threaed seem random and look like they are burn holes, i just can't beleive that this can happen on a car with only 20k on it, the sooty debris had also clogged the air filter, obviously nobody else has had this problem, so if you get a black sooty deposit on top of your engine you know its going to be expensive.
