Hey!

Post by Limara »

Hello everyone,

Just dropping in a quick line to say hello. :)

Hmmmmm, I got my 206cc this Friday. It's blue and I love it to pieces. (Insert big grin here)

I already went back to the garage this Tuesday because while at the traffic light my clutch pedal got stuck.. Pretty scary.. The nice men at the garage checked it out for me and told me the cable had run dry and needed oiling. It seems that solved the problem. As I know nothing of cars (unfortunately...) this leads me to think there's some arrears maintenance to be done. Any pointers as to what to look for?

The first people who owned the car were very neat about keeping it up to date (at least record wise, because the maintenance sheets were filled out nicely), but the second person didn't keep any records and so I don't know how much has been done..

Some stats on my car:

2.0 V16 from 2003
Almost 32.000 miles

Oh! We had a huge downpour last night and it turns out it's also watertight. Which made me very happy. :) As far as I've noticed everything works (lights, roof, windows, ac) and the only warning I've got was the 'fuel low' warning.

Well, I'm off reading up on everything 206CC.
Love, Limara

As it's a 2.0 I would say that buying an Haynes manual would be a good idea (plenty of them on eBay - it's the one with the black cover, not blue).
It has the maintenance schedule and weekly/monthly/annual checks.
Even if you don't end up doing jobs yourself, you can still use it to check that garages have done what they were supposed to, which reduces the chances of you being ripped off.
