Hi all, I have decided to buy a 206 CC with grey metallic colour. Since I only have some money left for either the climate control or some tyres + abs I want to ask you all a question.
Is it necessary to have an airco in the 206 ?
I live in Holland, so only the summers are hot and the winters can be cold. I miss the airco in my current car but I am wondering if one really needs it in *this* car, since it is a cabrio after all and when things get hot inside one will release the roof . Opinions please.

I have said it before somwhere else on this forum: I live in Norway with a hard clima.. and I dont have aircondition. Dont think its worth the 1000£ it costs here and I had no problems during the winter and have no problems now....
Guess if you are used to aircondition its hard to let it go... but its not a must on the car... leather is a must!!!

Personally I think aircon is a must, but I also agree with Bergen ... leather is a must too..

.. just save up for a few more months and get both

I think climate control is a must! But you ask why have it in a convertible? When you have the roof down in the blazing sunshine, it keeps you cool!

But in the UK the SE gets climate control as standard and the S gets aircon. (I think the difference is that with climate control, you type in the temperature, whereas aircon has a "warmer/cooler" dial).

Very true. On the hottest days (which admittedly in England isn't THAT hot) I've had the roof down and needed the air con to keep me cool in the blazing sun.

No, but then you can't retract the roof on a Renault Laguna! You'll just have to bicker with your passenger about the temperature.

Wow is that the real David Gilmour of Pink Floyd fame or an imposter?

On the subject, I often have the roof down and climate control on full heat for those days when its just a teensy bit too cold!!!!!!!

The real David Gilmour wouldn't have asked questions on the forum, but he would have bought Peugeot to design his ultimate cabriolet

So did you then? Does that mean when I ask how long a service will take, they'll just play lots of clocks chiming?

Indeed, and when you ask how much it's gonna cost you'll just hear the sound of some cash registers

i've read in a few car manuals that using aircon/climate control is generally inadvisable in a car with the windows down, let alone with the roof down. anyone care to comment?

yep you shouldn't do it. Most climate control systems work on sealed area's - thats why you can never open windows in offices etc
