206cc oil filter

Post by Firebhoy »

Hi can anyone show me a picture of where the oil filter should be on a 206cc? I'm showing 3/4 of a tank of oil but it appears there's no oil filter. Wouldn't the oil pour out without a filter? Excuse my ignorance. I'm only a youtube mechanic. Lol.

If it is not a spin on metal canister filter it will be the same as ours. Look under the bonnet in the area under the hydraulic fluid reservoir and you should see a black plastic hexagon. That is the top of the oil filter housing. Undo that, remove the cap and the oil filter element should draw out with it.

If you renew the oil filter use only the genuine item and renew the O-ring too. (Aftermarket filter elements have been known to collapse and cause low oil pressure). If you buy it from your Peugeot dealer you'll find that a new O-ring comes with the new filter. Torque wrench setting for the filter cap is 25 Nm (18 lbf ft).
