Roof Problem / Oil leak.

Post by nicholas »

Hi All
Would be grateful for all help i can get.
Today i open the the roof with no problem expect then the cover ( last ting that is coming up when the roof is down) did not want to go up and final the roof off set.

so i had to put the roof back on manually

so i forced it with my hand but it did not work eather.. any way i open the trunk i a did see lots of oil dripping from the trunk and i open and took away the cover on the trunk to see where it s coming from, seems its coming from the right sida mekanisim that has like 2 and 2 small hoses thats going in a "block"

When i try to take of the roof true pushing the button, then all the windows going down and the motor for the trunk start to make sound ( very weird one ) and very slowly lift up the trunk and then stop.

How can i fix this?

thanks

You need to establish the source of the oil leak and replace the faulty component, then top up the oil. Don't keep trying to use it as it is or else you will *lock out* the system which will then require resetting

Ok i tried to many time and now i think is to mutch air or something in the hydraulics because now the roof dont move and only the motor is going and oil leak out from on of the wires that goes in to the cylinder or what it is. picture of the "cylinder" that of of the wires go in to is below.

How to i take out all the air from the system and many people i talk to say its a rummer ring that i can just change.
is this true?
i try to upload a picture here so you understand what i am mean but it does not work.

I think you need to take it to a hydraulic specialist who will have the expertise and access to the components (e.g. seals).

Air bubbles disperse in the reservoir with use. This is a continuous pumping system (unlike brakes) and does not require bleeding anymore than an automatic gearbox does. It does help not to top up with agitated fluid.

You don't need two threads for the same problem .. ... all you are doing is dividing up the useful suggestions being made and losing the continuity ... it's a roof problem, stick to the roof subfolder ...

So find the leak, stop it and then top up wit the CORRECT fluid .. it's on this forum if you look ...

Seems like the "sylinder or what it is on right side of the trunk that on of the 4 hoses go in to must be changed because,
or is it possible to fix it with out replace the hole hydraulics cylinder?

A hydraulic specialist could remove it, replace the seal (or whatever) is responsible for the leak, reassemble and test. The problem with DIY is that you MUST use the correct seal, and where would you get that, apart from a specialist - Peugeot do not supply components for the cylinder, or even a complete cylinder - only a complete hydraulic system, and that will be very expensive.

If you google "hydraulic parts" where you live. You should be able to find a local place that might be able to source the parts and fix for you.
