Wipers working when switched off

:( hi just bought a 206cc (2004)
Had to replace the alternator and whilst it was in had cam belt replaced also.
All going good except the wipers seem to be in constant intermittent mode even when switched off ?? Very strange - anyone got any ideas as to why? - how hard is it to replace the wiper control stalk ?

Has it got a blue rain sensor on the windscreen behind the mirror, if it has try unplugging it.

Wiper stalk is part of the comm2000 unit. Plenty about it here if you use the search function
