Sounds like a stone in the tyre???

Sorry if answer is in a thread somewhere already, I did a few searches...
There's a sound coming from the front left wheel that I can only describe as a stone on the tyre or a flat spot? the tempo of the sound increases or decreases with car speed.

Changed the wheel but it's still there??
Any idea's fellow 206cc owners?

jack up the wheels and shake each one by hand to check bearing or all joints. outer cv joints if rattling on turns.
