Removing automatic gear selector knob

Hi all

I'm trying to remove the gear selector knob for an automatic 206cc.
Actually I want to replace the silver selector grille, which means I need to remove the knob.

I saw on other models you just pull hard, it's not working for me.

Anyone know how to remove, or do I just each spinach and pull harder?

Don't know about the auto but the manual gear lever knob needed to be turned 90 degrees first ...
