New GTI

Hi,

Read a car magazine last night that was talking about pug releasing a new 206GTI with 180bhp. Will be called the 206RI or something like that on the continent. Its meant to be rival for the clio 172. The current GTI will then be demoted to a warm hatch with a new model name.

Do you reckon the CC could handle the power of the new engine...if so we could see some really fast CC's next year...

Not sure if the CC would be up to that extra bit of power, or indeed if it's safe enough. Would be nice to have that extra bit of poke though.

Not much difference to the standard 206GTi apart from the alloys. Would get a Honda Civic TypeR before on of them (only cause I am getting one

).

True, the Honda might be a better option and with 20BHP extra, only this 180 version of the GTi should be a bit cheaper than the Type-R ?

Different cars aimed at different markets I think.
