Well I really cannot believe the difference between my old March 01 registered CC and my new Oct 02 registered CC. Apart from the looks, it really is a different car:

1) Roof works ... noticable changes in the gadgetery etc in the boot
2) Engine is much much quiter and smoother
3) Fuel economy is better
4) Leather is better quality
5) Seats are more supportive
6) Gearchange is slicker
7) Stereo is better
8) Quality of switchgear is way better, especially on aircon
9) Handling is sharper
10) Brakes actually work properly in the wet
11) Generally much less road noise

Basically it seems that Peugeot have been doing quite a lot of listening to people and really have improved the car, as it needed to be.

Best advice to anyone is get rid of your 2001 models now ... and if you are thinking of buying one second hand .. don't ... it really is worth paying the extra money for a new one.

Contented (at last) CC owner :D

i have to disagree. my 1st CC was dec 01 (new spec). my 2nd was march 02 and the quality difference is just bad luck.

The build quality of my 206lx seemed much better than the CC, but im wondering if thats down the the dealer not PDI'ing the vehicle too well.

From all the cars ive driven, same models, no two have felt the same.. they are all unique :D

Nooooo .. not a depressing picture at all.

All I was trying to say was that in my view the 206CC is now a great car and is way better than it was pre-multiplex, when it looked great but the quality of the car just couldn't match the looks.

I believe that that has now been rectified. My previously long and drawn out discussions with peugeot customer services led me to believe that they had taken action to improve the quality of the model and that was what persuaded me to replace my original one. There is no doubt in my mind that the internal fittings and switchgear of the new car is different and better than my March 01 model.

Thumbs up to Peugeot I say :? you don't see that comment on this site much

Hi guys,

I know pug have made a few changes to the CC in the last few months (I was advised to hang on for a bit when I was looking to buy)

1. They've changed the seal on the rear quarters - apparantly the 'mark 1' CCs had a lot of leak problems.
2. They did something with the motor on the roof. There was a known problem that they - finally - sorted out. Something to do with torque on the motor (makes no sense to me??)
3. There was also a known problem with the fan belt. This was replaced although if you were unlucky (like me) they messed up with the replacement too!

Strange though that I'm STILL having problems with mine after only 5 months and 5000 miles... Squeeky breaks, squeeky fan belt (STILL  ), dodgy offside roof latch, trip computer freezing.... This goes on!
