Just a little message to let you know that my Peugeot 206 know has 8 BHP more thanks to a great mod chip i've found. I must have the fastest Pug in Essex, and its knock 2 secs of my 0-60!!!
The mod chip came from a company which charged only £25 and it 's great, fits all pugs built after 1988 with a petrol engine:)
It came with full instructions, which i fitted in just under 10 minutes, if you want to get one of these babies, email me and i'll send you the details or you can email them direct at gsmotorcare@yahoo.co.uk
the good thing about this chip is that it does the same as the more expensive mod chips costing £200 or more, plus free postage in the uk! - nice work guys!!!
Yes, a very odd first post which does seem to be a blatant ad. The G in gsmotorcare isn't your first name initial by any chance is it? Surname smith perhaps?
lokoy what i just found on ebay ...This simple, yet effective modification will allow you to boost the power output of your vehicle's engine, without sacrificing reliability or comfort. It consists of a small electronic device (Timing Advance Resistor) that will be inserted between your cars IAT SENSOR. This is also known as a 'piggy back' device as it is external to the main processing unit (the ECU). You will feel the gain instantly, no fooling around or expensive tuning necessary. This unit will work with all vehicles equipped with electronic fuel injection. 99% of cars manufactures after 1990 are equipped with electronic fuel injection. Here is how it works:
You have probably heard of performance EPROM and JET chips. There chips consist of a stock computer program that has been altered to inject more fuel into the engine under acceleration. Timing curves are commonly also adjusted consequently. These chips can be found to be quite effective, but also pricey as you not only need the chip, but also a socketing kit. You then need to do some soldering on your computer board which can damage it and cause it to malfunction. On the other hand, this 'piggy back' electronic device will alter the fuel and timing curves in a very similar way as the EPROM chip would, but without even opening the ECU. How can it do that? By fooling your computer and letting it think that you are sucking air at a different temperature. Your computer will respond with increased power!
UPGRADE YOUR CAR TODAY!
HIGHEST HORSEPOWER GAIN PER DOLLAR! UNLEASH THE TRUE POTENTIAL OF YOUR ENGINE!
By tricking the computer, we are able to make the reading of the computer shift to the right in the table, which will make it think it is under heavier load and increase the power. You have the proof right there! You can either buy an eprom chip, as explained further up or even get a bigger system that will control your engine, or you can simply keep that hard earned money and install this little device. You have nothing to lose!
QUICK FACTS:
THIS IS A RESISTOR
THIS WILL NOT HURT YOUR CAR IN ANY WAY
ALL YOU DO IS INSTALL IT IN YOUR IAT SENSOR!
YOUR VEHICLE MIGHT LOSE 2 to 3 MPG

Consider this -- this sounds suspiciously like the Superchips mod for an Impreza. Imprezas run overfuelled to keep the combustion temperature down, but if you can lean out the mixture by fooling the ECU into thinking it's got less air, then you can get more power. But then you're closer to the knock (detonation) limit. If you go past it, your exhaust gas temperatures go sky high and then you blow a hole in a piston...
So saying that "a resistor can't damage your car" is a load of crap. Personally, for more power I'd want a properly done remap of the existing ECU by a reputable tuner. If that's not possible, then a complete replacement ECU (Motec, Link, etc.) again mapped by a reputable tuner.
