hi all,
the wife wants a leather gear knob,as she finds the alloy one really cold in the mornings.
can you get leather ones to fit??and does the alloy one even come off??

Hi, My wife wants to change her gear knob but I couldn't get it off, I read on the internet" You need to twist it about 45 degrees to the left, you should hear it click, then just tug on it, takes effort but should eventually come off".
I'm going to try Halfords to see if they will do it for me.

I replaced mine with a sporty blue and black leather one as the chrome one had some dents which left sharp debris -
Anyhow, was really easy to come off, its rubbish the turn to 45 degrees and hear a click, its just glued on, theres no catches etc within the knob. Just pull it off. The hairdryer sounds a good idea, as I say its just glued on so this will soften the glue and should make it easier for the weaklings
