The engine management light comes on after about 1 week of resetting storing fault code P0510 relating to vehicle speed sensor.
2003 1.6 NFU engine code
Crankshaft sensor has been replaced.
MAP sensor has been replaced.
Any ideas

No speed sensor on the gear box this system gets its speed pulse from the abs system (have changed the N/S/F abs sensor yesterday)
One thing I forgot to mention was the antipollution warning on the dash display when the engine light eventually comes back on with the same fault code present but no codes relating to emission control components

My antipolution warning came on as I was driving along. This also prevented me going over 2000 revs - effectively making me pull over.
Called AA out and sat for 15 minutes, tried to start engine, started fine and drove home 20 miles as if nothing had happened. Obviously cancelled AA call out.
Any explanation for this and is it a 1 off or should I expect it to happen intermittently?
Is it worth getting the sensor checked at garage?
