Hi all,
My abs has started kicking in willy nilly whenever it decides to so im thinking its either the sensors or thee pump.
Does anyone have experience of this or any info on how hard the sensors are to replace or if the ecu needs to be reset to read them?
Thanks in advance

Re: ABS Kicking in
I could not get the link to work for me.
I am having problems with the ABS, when pressing the brakes there is a funny feeling up with pedal and at times you wonder if it is actually going to stop. The feedback through the pedals is not a nice feeling at all.
The car has just come out the garage after getting the new CV joints fitted and a sensor on the back.
It is due to go back into the garage in a few days once the bank holiday is finished however i was wondering if there is something i could check while waiting for the time coming round. I have jacked the car up but there is nothing obvious, nice shiny CV joints and pick up rings fitted and all looks good.
This has only happened after getting the work done. It is a very good garage that i have had no issues with so dont suspect they have done anything wrong.
Any ideas ??

Re: ABS Kicking in
If the problem has only happened after the garage has just worked on it then I'd take it back to them and tell them. It is likely to be something they have done, or have not done properly I should have thought.

Re: ABS Kicking in
I have just done this.
My garage i use is one i trust fully however a friend had recommended a garage in Glasgow i used and they had the first shot. What a mess they made.
When asked to change the CV joint, on checking later they had not and removed the ABS ring.
So when the proper work was done by my garage then they noticed the poor work done. Two new CV joints and ABS rings are in place and the sensor at the rear has been changed.
On checking my car over again on Wednesday my garage noticed the OSF sensor is damaged and the bracket for it has been bent out the way.
I am now sure this sensor is the issue however i believe there is a part number for this and it is not just a matter of getting one off ebay - am i right.
This is for a 206cc 2002 model

Re: ABS Kicking in
Personally I'd get the part from my Peugeot main dealer. I have never found them expensive when I have needed parts (admittedly not very often these days). I also know that they will fit perfectly and come with a warranty.

Re: ABS Kicking in
All sorted now with a bit of patience. The abs sensor was not for coming out but WD40 to the rescue and the drill i managed.
Great for it to be back the way it should be - thanks for the advice folks
