No offense but I think you're aiming a bit high. Glass's comes up with £3430 for average condition

Average Condition: Some wear and tear to mechanical parts may be expected. My 53 2003 1.6 Allure with 22K, is only valued at £4890/£5460 respectively.

oh rite thanks for that, the thing is its my mums car, if it was mine i would sell it for 1000 and get a nova lol, i have told her that its too high priced but she wont have it. i was just gauging interest really .

I'll put in my 4 pennorth and say that if you're going to sell a 206cc, NOW is the TIME of year to do it. Unfortunately 2009 has been a bad year for selling cars. A brief search on the Autotrader website for similar cars indicates that the asking price is at least £1500 over the top but when no interest is shown your Mum will come to realise that she'll have to be more realistic. Personally I'd be keeping the asking price just below £4,000 if I was seriously wanting it to sell. Perhaps secretly she wants to keep it if there is nothing wrong with it. It certainly sounds good from the description, but isn't it a 51 reg, not an "A" reg?
Good luck anyway, I hope your Mum achieves a good price for it.

lol thanks ron, yeh sorry i dont know what year it is or the new numberplate system lol. but im trying to get her to lower it, but failing. but it is a nice car and has nothing wrong with it. its just too impractical as my sister wants to share it and the insurance will be too high. so we were thinking of getting a polo or other kind of hatchback for it.

Polo's have a certain kudos but in my opinion have their faults. The new one (that looks like a Golf) looks really nice though.
I'd give the new Hyundai's a look. The i10, i20 and i30 all look good value for money and have a 5 year warranty. What about a Peugeot 107 or Citroen C1, or are they are bit too small?
Still, you've got to sell the 206cc first I suppose, so good luck doing that.
