Hello all. I'm new and I've already got myself in bother.
Basically the engine is a DW8 with a WJY code and I need to know which bolts and spacers go where for the AC and alt brackets.
Its a long story but cut short they all ended up in a pile on the floor for a reason probably not unrelated to stupidity.
Thanks in advance.

Hello Simon, welcome to the forum :)

Unfortunately, I don't have the solution to your problem, however I know where I can ask for you as this forum isn't as lively as it once was...

I'll let you know if anyone has a solution

Thanks.
I've got another problem now too. The car has had an engine swap after cambelt failure but we had to use all the bits from the old engine as the new one came as a block, internals and head.
Now the car starts but misfire's on idle or steady throttle (clears when a little throttle is applied) and has no rev counter and an ECU light on.
Any ideas?

No problem (I kept you anonymous btw). Had a few responses, here's one of them on regards to the spacers:

"Just been here with my 405 fit it up with The thick washers on the belt end put a straight edge asross the air con pulley and the crank pulley to see if they line up adjust washer placement to suit, fit the bolts and washers up first then slide the compresor on the bolts from the drivers side .same with the alternater pugs"

Hope you can make some sense out of it. The main problem is that your engine type never made it out here to Australia, so not many people have the answer to this one I'm afraid

As for your second problem, my car does a similar thing when idling after startup - the advice I got was turn the ignition on and wait for the fuel pump to whirr into action before starting it - does your problem occur immediately after startup? If it doesn't, the only experience I have in a misfiring idle was because I wasn't feeding it premium unleaded, and it was fixed straight away with the high octane fuel. I've also heard stories of different fuel brands causing cars to have an uneasy idle...

I suppose after an engine swap, the electrics can go a bit haywire, hence ECU light and no rev counter. If you wanted to try resetting the computer, disconnect the battery for 20 minutes. That will reboot the system, and possibly provide a solution...

Sorry, that's about the best I can offer... hope it gets sorted soon!

If you're still having problems with the bolts and spacers for the A/C pump, there's been another response

"Try these.
