Hi Guys,
I bought a second hand 206 cc 1.6 which is supposed to be 2004 and was registered as 2004 however i found a label on the driver window says:production date 2003 and found "03" on the mineral label which has the chassis number that you see when you open the front bonnet.
a friend of mine told me that is the production year not the model year...he said that this is a 2004 model car that was made in November 2003.
does that make sense?what is the difference between 2003 and 2004?how can i tell what is my car model year
is it 2003 or 2004 ? please help

Hi eng_maumen...
I'm no expert, but from what I've noticed, there are a couple of aesthetic differences between the 2003 and 2004 models. Bear with me, its hard to explain...
On the 2004 model:
1. The grille has hexagonal shapes, not the straight horizontal lines.
2. The taillights are crescent-shaped around the reverse light, not divided up into sections like on the older models
3. The front and rear bumpers have more on the bottom of them... sorry i cant find any pictures to show what i mean, ive just noticed it on a 2002 model
4. If it's straight automatic, its 2003. If it's tiptronic, its 2004. If it's manual, there's no difference that I know of
They are the differences I know of - the 206CC was facelifted in 2004 but some 2003 models may have the facelift... hope it helps somewhat and hope you can make some sense out of it!
Sorry I dont know of any other distinguishing features or any other way of telling the difference between them - like I said, I'm no expert

Ah tiptronic - first introduced in the MY04 cars. The car itself could have been MADE in late 2003, but it is the 2004 MODEL. So what your friend said does definitely make sense. It just means that Peugeot already had the blueprints for the facelifted model and started production just before 2004. Yours would be one of the first then

I think what was mentioned about the bumpers was the sport bumpers that became standard on all models but these were previously standard on the earlier 2.0SE models.
