Only had the car since friday, excuse me if this is obvious, can't find it in the manual!

Had just gone for a drive, stopped and got out of the car, shut but did not lock the doors. Whilst outside noticed that the stop light and the low-fuel light were flashing, and the illumination for the dash was on (the lights were off). Only the illumination for the speedo dash, not the centre lights or the one above the hazard lights button.

This seemed to go on for a couple of minutes, open/closed the doors no difference, but it started up fine and the lights went back to normal.

Is it trying to tell me something...?

It's weird, only noticed it the once! I have noticed that the two yellow markers for the "low fuel" level (not the round light that comes on when you are low, but the two legends for the low level) are on all the time the engine is running, but the other yellow markers further up the fuel scale are off until the lights are put on! It also seems that the km/h scale which is inside the mph scale is lit when the ign is on.

Other than that no problems at all with it. It's a great motor!

Never heard about the fuel light and the stop sign kept flashing.
The speedometer light keeps on for a minute or so. I saw that also on the 307 and then found it really usefull for companycars with fuel cards, so you can check your Miles/Km's. I think it's part of the 'follow me home' lighting?
About the stop sign. Was the roof properly closed? Maybe one of the clips wasn't shut good enough?

Hadn't played with the roof, we were just standing by the car and it started flashing the dashboard! Got in to leave, it had stopped flashing by then, started up fine and drove away with no further warning signs.

had it been raining?

when my car gets very wet I have a relay switch which, when I take the keys out of the ignition, most of my dashboard lights, and information window lights, and courtesy lights flash on and off for about 5 mins.

2 trips to peugeot and they still cant fix it tho :-(

That's interesting! It had been raining, and I'd been out in the car all day with it. I'll keep an eye on it while it's wet :)

I have this exact problem!
The STOP light and the low fuel light keep flashing and a beep (through the stereo). This happens even when the ignition is off and the key is out.

I has rained here heavily recently.

The problem occurred after i took the car for a trip to the local market. All worked fine.
Drive home, all fine again.
Got in the car after about 2 hours, started it up and then the dash problems started. Many of the dash warning lights are on continuously, none of the dials are working, even when the car is running and the Stop and Fuel lights are flashing. The beeps stop when I turn the stereo off, but the dash still flashes.
The indicator lights work, but no reference on the dash that they are working.

The roof is working fine.

I'm hoping that it is a temporary fault from water or something. It is a hot day today, I have the roof off and hoping this might sort the problem out.

Any thoughts?

Kind regards,

Dave.

OK guys, update.
Still had problems as stated above after 2 days.
(Fuel and Stop lights flashing with audible beep through the stereo - other warning lights like airbags seatbelt etc on continuously - none of the dials we working even when the car was running fine)

I topped up my coolant as it looked low- I added about 1 ltr - still had the problem.
I reset the computer by unhooking the battery for 30 seconds and the re-connected it.

After i reconnected the battery, jumped in the car and started it - ALL FIXED!

Obviously the computer (or some other electrical system) had some sort of error requiring a restart.

Problem solved!

Started the car,

Started the car,

hey ICBM

just wanted to know how you are going with this mate! i wonder if the problem trully went away for ever after disconnecting the battery.

I have got the same problem happening more often now, but also the while driving, if I turn the left indicator on it automatically switched off (while in the "on" position) or the normal headlights of the car turn on insead.

Just trying to see if i can deduce if the problem is related!

Sounds like the COM2000 unit at fault Julian.

Some people have successfully had them apart and cleaned them out. Or a new one is quite expensive.

Take a look at

Good luck.
