I think it's more to do with where I am or where I'm going. If I'm going to work in the morning I don't put the roof down or if I'm only going on a short journey (less than half an hour) or a long journey on the motorway I don't.
If I'm going anywhere that's not on the motorway and will take me more than half an hour, I put the roof down. It still makes me smile everytime I hold that button and it all unfolds and reveals that clear blue sky :-)
I've got to investigate one of these wind deflector thingies to see if it makes a difference to the amount of wind buffeting on the motorway. I'd definitely put the roof down for motorway driving if it wasn't so windy.

I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer. Fear is the little death that brings total obliteration.

last thursday was really warm and I had the roof down from Colchester to London, but found it to be cooler when putting the roof back up later when in traffic. Last few days of soaring heat I just found I couldnt be bothered hitting the button on short or long journeys.
I drove the A12 with the roof off with speeds upto 90mph and having short hair didnt find the wind to be too noisey or a hassle to me individually. I passed many other cars with the roof off, one lady had a wind deflector on and her hair was all over the place, although I've been told they are a god send I suppose until I try it myself I wont be convinced in buying one. I havent heard the windows rattle yet either as many others have reported :/

Looks like summers over now though, but what a glorious week it was!

I dont normally put my roof down when on my way to work or on short(ish) journeys. But if the weather is as hot as it has been I will have the roof down and take the longer route to wherever I am going. I love it when the evenings are still warm as I go for random drives down to Christchurch beach or a blast along the M27 up to Whiteley and back as a drive with the roof down on a warm evening with a good tune blasting out never fails to put a smile on my face
What's better than having your roof down, hair down and music turned up?!! m/(>_<)m/

There's a really good drive on the old B roads from Hedge End - Botley - Wickham up to Portsdown Hill. I work in Whiteley so it's not a very nice drive for me to go thereLaura :) wrote:I love it when the evenings are still warm as I go for random drives down to Christchurch beach or a blast along the M27 up to Whiteley and back as a drive with the roof down on a warm evening with a good tune blasting out never fails to put a smile on my face

Awh fulnic. I guess it's not the same if it's the same route you take on the way to work. I work in Totton so still half an hour or so away just in the other direction. The roads on the way to Portsdown hill are great for driving along! It has been a while since I ve been there though (they do have a great burger van there!!
). The last time I went on a random drive, I ended up in Gunwharf!

The A272 through Hampshire and Sussex is a lovely road to drive along on a summer evening with the roof down - done it 3 or 4 times in my CC now! Mind you, it's best in the eastbound direction so you're not heading into the setting sun!
