Hi guys, just thought I'd drop in and say hello :D

Bought my first CC just over 2 weeks ago ( when we had all that lovely sunny weather) and I can honestly say, I'm in love. !! I keep looking out of the window just to look at it, I've got 54 plate in a lovely pillar box red. Cant wait to get the wax and polish out and buff it all up again :D

I just wanted to ask while I was on here - when I bought it, the dealer mentioned to me about the Cam Belt and that I should get it checked when I get to about 60,000 mls, is that right? I've still got about 4,000 to go yet, so no rush. He said you get no warning with Cam belts on CC's so best to get it checked when I hit the 60000.

Other than that, so far so good, just got slightly squeaky brakes and a slight chink chink sound from brakes when I first start off.

Nice to meet you all

Hello!!!!!!!!

Answer to your question????????

Absolutely no idea!!! But there are some lovely people on here who will help you!

I have a really top tip though that may come in handy for you:

Found myself unfortunate enough last Friday that I had to enter that great circular car park (some of you may know it as the M25). Make sure you have a suitable supply of suntan lotion for such unforseen circumstances and you wont feel anything like as bad as i still do when it takes 3 hours to do 3 miles and you can soak up the rays (as opposed to burning!)

Hi Helen, and thankd for the tip !! The warmer the better for me, I hardly use sun tan lotion anyway so I'd be happy to get frazzled with my top down :rotfl:

Look forward to speaking with you all again soon

Welcome to the forum smigger. What did you buy a 1.6 or a 2.0? If a 1.6 the belt should be ok for a while yet. Autodata say 80,000 miles.
However if you're planning to keep the car for some time why not put your mind at rest and get it done. Rather sooner than too late.
We have a good indy in Oadby who charges very reasonably - St. Peter's Auto Centre in Oadby, Leicester - independent Peugeot specialists.

Thanks for the warm welcome guys :D

I bought a 1.6 in Flamenco Red, its an absolute beaut, love it to bits.

Grandadmonkey, i live in Liverpool so would be a bit of a trek I'm afraid, but thanks for the info. I'll get it done when I come back from holiday as funds are low at the moment :D

If it's a 1.6 the timing belt should be ok until 80,000 miles or 10 years, whichever comes soonest.
