I saw a friends car stereo the other day and it has a USB input on the front so you can play Mp3 files direct from a key drive.

Just ordered this.

http://www.pioneer.co.uk/eur/products/2 ... index.html

Found it for £149.00 rrp of £249.

Has USB and you can insert a SD card (up tp 32gb) which must be most of my music collection.

Just waiting for postman now.

OOO I like that - and blue to match my interior, thats all that matters, have to let us know how you get on. I quite fancy treating myself to a new stereo :D

Cheers Ollie.

Will let you know what its like.

Just recieved an email to say its been dispatched.

I already have a pioneer head unit in the car so its just a case of unplugging the old one from the adapter and plugging in the new.

I'm guessing I can create my own playlists from the head unit as there's gonna be a lot of tunes on a 32gb sd card :rotfl:

Sounds really nice. A more rounded sound than the previous pioneer.

Im very pleased with it.

Be gentle with me! I have been thinking about changing from the standard Clarion that I have too as all my music is stored as MP3 on my compy and I cant play the CDs that I have burnt. As yet I havent ventured into the 21st century and got myself an i-pod but I was considering treating myself for my (shortly to be had) holiday!!!!

So what I want to know is what can I purchase that will replace the standard unit, accomodate an ipod, play mp3 cds, (maybe have bluetooth for my phone) and still be controlled from the stalks?

Please dont get technical with me though - a link to the ideal item would do me just fine!!!!! :D

Helen, you will lose all steering-column mounted controls if you put any other stereo in. I was devo when I was told this, and I ended up paying $220 to repair the standard Clarion one, just to keep the wheel controls!!! Coulda got a real nice new one for that too :(

I have just had the new pioneer head unit connected to the steering controls and it works fine.

You just have to go to a car audio shop and get the corresponding kit for the head unit. (there are ones available for Sony as well).

It plugs into the peugeot's original wiring in and you connect the head unit wiring to that.

The only thing you need to know is if youre 206cc is a multiplex version or non multiplex as the adapters are different.

you can buy a adaptor to go onto the back of the stereo and it connects to the steering wheel connector so u can still use it
