Radio

Post by Tarriq »

My clarion radio is no longer ejecting cd's. I was recommended a new radio from Aldi but I have been told it may have different connectors because of the temperature/radio screen and the remote control on the steering wheel. I was told the clarion probably isn't worth fixing as it would cost what a new stereo would. I don't know what to do, please help

hello tarriq regarding your radio one idea might be to go to somewhere like halfords as they could probably advise you on what radios will fit and any possible connectors.giving you the choice to allow them to fit it or diy.it may also be worth talking to an auto electrician hope this helps :?: (KEV)

Has anyone ever replaced their Clarion radio in a 2003 model and experienced any problems at all?

What has happened that you need to decode it? Is it from a different car originally?

I'd be happy to hear of anyone who's successfully replaced their Clarion radio/cd. The cd player on mine is playing up and sometimes not working at all. Ideally I'd like to replace it with a cd/radio with an .mp3 player connection, but I'd hate to lose the ability to control it with the stalk!

Just about to get a 206cc so havent been able to have a look yet at the rear of the radio or the fron to be honest, I take it they are the standard DIN size units?

You can get the stalk adaptors on Fleebay quite cheaply, but the information display wont work, have n idea whether there is a work around for this?

Going to be fitting some floor lighting and puddle lighting to it as soon as I can :)

I wouldn't bother with getting it to work
Ur cd player will show all the info you need
Just get the stalk adaptors
I wouldnt be with out mine so handy to turn it up and down
It's standard din so just pop ur cage in and slot new one in with a autoleads lead

This is totally probably i dumb question but i would really like to change the stereo system in my car, (not a car person sorry!!) just bought the peugeot cc and would love to change the front to how someone above put a screen in. I look at things and it either says din 1 or din 2 is a 206 a din 1? and is it easy to be put in or not?
Again sorry im really not a car person but i would love to put a gps and really nice stereo system in my car!

Yup single din
Just means single space
Any head unit will fit in, it's just you will need a iso block to convert from
Kenwood, pioneer, Sony ect to Peugeot
Also if you still want to use the steering wheel control then you will need to get a special connection that will allow this

What ewe you want really
I'd stick with brand names, and don't forget if u want the stalk to work u will need the adaptor
The heads up display will stop work g when u replace the headunit
But it shouldn't matter to much as the Info will be on the new cd player

what is wrong with your old cd player, is it clicking when the eject button is pressed?

mine did this and if you take the player out and carefully dissassemble it you will find that a thin clear plastic cover on the underside is broken (1 securing lug breaks off). I fixed mine using a tower cable clip to refix the cover securely therby stopping the cogs from slipping. A bodge I know......................but it works a treat!!
