Poorly 206cc

I am looking for help....... i bought a 2002 2.0 206cc with 81000 miles on for my wife but am having nothing but problems from it! just to list a few things that have gone wrong from day 1 which are, violent jolting or judder when starting off from 1st to 2nd gear, a noisy tapping noise through all gears on acceloration, lack of acceloration at times, and an anti polution fault with engine management light on, I bought it from a dealer and it looks fantastic with complete colour coding etc, and i have spent around £400 quid tarting it up for her. The dealership says there is nothing wrong with it despite it being obvious that we have a major problem. Does anyone have simular problems or know anything about the symptoms of the car?

The engine problems don't sound normal
Has it had cambelt and pump done yet

Yes, Cam belt was done before we picked it up they have had it back more times than we have owned it! I am getting pretty p***** with it now. just ticks me off when they say its perfectly normal! though there own garage did admit there was an issue with it, namely the clutch plate was warped! but in the next breath apparently that is normal too.........
