i have a 206 1.6 2001 ,when driving at high speed , well around 40mph or more.
the whole car shakes like hell. and is very noisey, this problem has slowly and gradually got worse upto the point where i cant bear to drive it, my first thought is either shockers or springs, but i am not a mechanic,
all i know is that its nothing to do with anything like the engine because it is still the same when the clutch is disengaged and out of gear(when coasting)
can anyone point me in the right direction as i going to attempt to fix it myself thanks
car very noisey and vibrates like hell over 40mph shocks??

Re: car very noisey and vibrates like hell over 40mph shoc
Has anything been modified?
First thing I'd get checked are the tyres and wheels. First check all the tyre pressures are correct. Then check the tread is legal and they are not worn out. Make sure they are perfectly round with no bulges, either in the tread or the sidewalls, and if you find anything wrong that's likely to be the problem. If the wheels themselves are ok then new quality tyres should cure it. If the wheels are buckled or otherwise out of shape you'll need new wheels.
Make sure that your wheels are balanced.
To get this done, take the car to a reputable tyre firm, or your local Peugeot service agent.
Let us know how you get on.

Glad you got it sorted. It is easy to overlook the basics.
Well done. Pleased to be of help.
