I Just bought a 206cc for the wife with gearbox problems. Got the car towed home and found out the roof isn't working.
Its an automatic, and the gear is in Park. I've extended the boot cover, turned the car on and released the roof latches which gives me a beep. The windows are closed and doors closed. But when i press the roof open button i'm constantly getting a beep.
I've found all 9 micro sensors and they all seem to be working. Put a voltmeter on the switches and they all pulsate positive when pressed. and the remaining 2 sensors in the latches work, as once i have released both latches i hear a beep.
I have tried to do a manual reset by lowering the roof manually, and then closing the roof only to find the boot cover doesn't close fully and now its held loosely closed with the manual position of the pins in the boot hinge. I have read you can only fully close it by pressing the closure switch in the car. But this doesn't do anything just gives me the beeping sound.
Is there anyway i can fully close the boot cover fully manually?
What else can i check or do?
I have found the electronic roof control unit/ecu, is there any think i can check on here?
Would the gearbox problem be linked to the roof not working?
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks

Hi Hemz.
You need to find the other 2 micro switches and check them first. Have you checked the one on the blind in the boot? ("H" in the diagram below)
See here (if you haven't already done so)

Re: roof not opening or closing.
Thats the same diagram i used.
The other 2 sensors are the ones in the interior latchs. I couldn't access them but when i open the latches i hear a beep so i know they are working.
The Car also had a flat battery. Could this have affected it in any way?

Re: roof not opening or closing.
Flat battery won't help. Did you try with engine running or not. If engine won't start due to flat battery, you need to sort that first. Pay attention to battery disconnect/ reconnect sequence. As shown on the site. If you jump start the car, be very careful. Better to use a battery charger.
If you must jumpstart, then leave ign off/ doors closed/ bonnet open/ drivers window down for 3 mins. Connect donor car without touching anything on the cc.
Start donor car and run with jumpleads connected for about 5 mins to give the cc some charge.
Start cc and turn on as much electrical load as poss (heater fan/ heated screen/ main beam/ front & rear fogs etc. This will minimise the chances of a "spike" when you disconnect jumpleads. Disconnect leads and turn off electrical loads and allow to idle for some time to charge battery.

Re: roof not opening or closing.
The battery is fine now. Just thought i'd mention the battery was flat when i bought the car and was wondering if this would have had an affect.
I've tried the roof with car running and when its on the first stage of the ignition.
Is there any way i can check roof ecu or to see if thats at fault?

Only with diagnostic kit. Have you checked all the fuses?

Re: roof not opening or closing.
Checked all the fuses under the driver side dash and they are all working.
I have an obd reader and tried to read codes, there was nothing to indicate roof problems. If the roof ecu was not working would i have a fault code.
Also when trying to open the roof i'm constantly getting a beeping noise. Does that indicate a micro switch sensor or a general roof fault?

Re: roof not opening or closing.
Fuse #9 engine compartment covers the pump for the roof.Checked all the fuses under the driver side dash and they are all working
Possibly, but a generic EOBD reader won't read the manufacturers codesI have an obd reader and tried to read codes, there was nothing to indicate roof problems. If the roof ecu was not working would i have a fault code.
It only indicates that something is wrong with the operation of the roof. Anything from luggage space blind not in place/ roof securing latch(es) not released to one of the micro switches not operating and a host of other causes too. Also when trying to open the roof i'm constantly getting a beeping noise. Does that indicate a micro switch sensor or a general roof fault?
Have you watched the video detailing how the roof works? A lot of info there.
Cheers Col.

Re: roof not opening or closing.
I agree the video has a lot of info on it, and it was the first thing i did before i posted my problem. And its how i was able to do a manual reset, but now i'm stuck
I know someone else with an obd reader who actually does this for a living, so will see if he gets any results and will post back soon.

Re: roof not opening or closing.
Sorry I know its late but the problem was sorted a while ago and i thought id put up the solution.
Got hold of a 'Proper' Diagnostic kit just for Peugeot's, and found i had an ABS fault as well. Every time I cleared the ABS code the roof started working. But then once the car was driven the code would be logged again and the roof stopped working.
The ABS pump in my version of the 206cc controls the speedo, hence when the car logged the ABS fault (think it was a communication fault), the car ecu could not determine the speed accurately and would not open the roof.
Changed the ABS pump and problem solved.
Hope this helps anyone else with similar problem although i think it would be very rare.

Surely you had an ABS warning light on the dash?

Yes Id have thought if there was a fault in the ABS the dash light would glow , now wondering if my faulty roof is via the ABS .
