Auto Volume-Speakers dropping in sound-Radio Mode Only

I have just purchased a 05 206cc.

On the whole I'm quite happy with it and I'm looking forward to the summer..

I have a little problem with the sound system. Whilst driving with the radio on, loudness on and the Auto Volume on (the volume is on about level 10 so not really that loud) the sound seems to go quiter when I'm braking or changing gear. At first I thought I may have a loose wire in one of the speakers. Is this just how the Auto Volume works? I find it annoying as I've turned it off and it seems to make no difference it keeps doing it. Mind you when the DJ's are talking it seems fine, maybe it's just me being a knob...

However if I'm playing a CD, the sound, volume stays the same when I brake and change gear and it says that the Auto Volume is On..So this how I know there is no fault with my speakers otherwise it would do this in CD mode.

Does anyone else find this or can help out, or is this just something I've got to get used to with this car.
