Hi there
I have just bought this Peugeot 206 CC Hdi ALLure and it keeps saying 'Clean Diesel Filter'.
Does anyone know whether we need to replace the diesel filter or there is any other remedy for this?
It does not seem to alter the car's performance but just wondering.

Re: Clean Diesel Filter code
I assume you mean DPF as the fuel filter is replaced and not just cleaned?
You need to regenerate it by driving it hard for a period of time. Should tell you how in the manual.
If its really bad you may have to remove it and clean it with oven cleaner and a pressure washer.

Re: Clean Diesel Filter code
It is not the DPF.A message comes out on the BC saying 'Clean Diesel Filter' every time the car gets started and sometimes while it is being driven.I was thinking about changing the diesel filter ,but do not know whether that would be the right thing to do as I am not much into mechanics.I also have a peugeot 307 with an EML on and the message 'Antipollution Fault' coming on every time that it gets started and sometimes whilst being driven.I understood from some people that that would be the DPF but did try driving it hard on a motorway on the third gear but that did not seem to solve the problem. It also loses power and can not go over 2800 revs for some reason. Thanks for your suggestio ,anyway.

It will most likely be the one in the tank in that case. There is a plastic sieve type filter as part of the pickup / sender unit.
