Re: side lights
one day before the lights stopped working, the esp triangle came on the airbag warning came on 2 of them I think then it flashed "stop" the fuel went down as I was stopping and the light on it was flashing, so I turned of the engine, sat for a few mins, then I started it again drove for a few mins and it happened again 4 times then I drove the rest of the 7 miles home with no problems all lights working but the next day no side lights or tail lights or number plate light, the abs light comes on I know i need to repair my abs :-(

Re: side lights
The BSI equipped Pugs are notorious for probs like these when the battery is on the way out. Do you know how old it is? Is it the original. If any doubts put a new one on.

Re: side lights
If it's the original battery, put a new one on. Follow the correct method of disconnecting the battery as shown on this site. The BSI is under the dash and basically is the computer that runs the car systems such as wipers, lights, dashboard (inc warning lights) horn, etc.
It is this unit that can be damaged if you don't follow the correct battery disconnection method.

Re: side lights
oops well i have had a flat battery 3 times so I put another battery in it, I had no knowledge that it had to be done a certain way, would it cause problems straight away ? or gradually ? is this why my side and tail lights dont work ? can I do the procedure on my battery now ?

Re: side lights
You just said it was original battery??? So is it new or not?Nicola_Sommerville wrote:oops well i have had a flat battery 3 times so I put another battery in it, I had no knowledge that it had to be done a certain way, would it cause problems straight away ? or gradually ? is this why my side and tail lights dont work ? can I do the procedure on my battery now ?
You also said you had airbag lights and ABS light that came on. Was this before or after battery change?
Yes I have changed the comm2000 unit (light stalk) but from the other issues you said you have, I don't think it's that.
Can you just run through what happened , in what order and when you changed battery and what effect it had. Was. it another battery or a new one.
These cars are complicated, so the more accurate you can be with the fault, the more accurate the diagnosis.
Cheers Col.

Re: side lights
sorry I thought you were asking if it was the original BSI its not the original battery no,
this has all happened since changing the battery,
however i do have an ABS fault that I am aware of, so the ABS light is often on,
and twice the(one) airbag light has been on before when it was very frosty and cold,
but the esp triangle light has never been on, the day I am talking about was very different the (two) airbag, abs, esp, were all on and the car was flashing "stop"
I think there were two air bag lights on are there two ?

Re: side lights
OK thanks for clearing that up. Firstly put a new battery on using the correct method, unless the battery you fitted is less that 3 years old http://www.peugeot206cc.co.uk/viewtopic ... 23&t=13473
Search this site for problems like yours that have been sorted just by fitting a new battery.
