And his hair was in his eyes. And he was watching the other ball (the one that appeared when he banged his head in the 1st half)

It wasnt him being off his line that cost the goal it was his initial movement forward that made him unable to get back intime, its a goalkeeping error but you cant blame him for when england were 11 against 10 not making the brazillian keeper make a save

Oh well, my last few thoughts on that last goal.

I expect had the ball been crossed from the free kick as one would have thought from such a long way out, then I have no doubt seaman would have been congradulated for taking the calculated risk of committing himself forward and catching the ball or at least knocking it out of harms way (as he has done countless times before).

The fact that the goal was either a) a flouke miss-kick or b) one of the greatest goals of the tournament was a calculation seaman ultimately lost and an error for his part.

If truth be told, it may have been his back injury that prompted him to make a move forward to compensate for any slowness and in that case, Seaman should have stayed off the field at half time.

What I am more surprised about was the lack of commitment from his fellow players up front to do something about it afterwards at least for Seamans sake, if not the countries!

It was a team of eleven out there that failed to capatalise on brazil down to ten men so I don't see why only one team member should shoulder the blame in the morning papers.

Seaman must have felt frustration for the fact that he couldn't run up the field to score to put things right so why on earth didn't the rest of the team do it for him instead of letting Brazil off the hook with ten men.

It seemed almost too respectable for the rest of the English squad to loose to Brazil in the quarter finals without giving it their all, that was the most disappointing thing for me.

If Seaman has any sense he'll continue to play, even if its only to give it one more season with a***nal - an not go out on such a sour note, especially after such a successful career.

a***nal still needs him even if England doesn't anymore. I'm sure a***ne Wenger will be pleased to retain his services for one more season if he has the chance to.

Robbie.

I just think its fantastic the way Lyndons rude word checker deletes any reference to a***nal and their manager!!!!! Lyndon - any chance of adding "West" "Bromwich" and "Albion" to the list?
Well, it looks like this topic has run its course and the overall impression is that Seaman is on everyones lips at the moment.... (sorry) ;)
