Why has my 55 plate pug 206 doors gone off?

Post by gsc1ugs »

Hi

I had a smashed door and replaced it from a scrapper car, when i unplugged the door loom, i heard the other doors lock, I replaced everything, even used my original loom and now the key only locks and unlocks the new passenger door? boot and drivers door no response..

car is 55 plate 206.. any information would be appreciated, i've checked fuses, cant see any blown

Again for clarification, the key in the drivers side door, when manually locking does lock the passenger door aswell, but not the boot, i cant hear drivers door or boot lock operating, even pulling the latch inside the car operates the pass door aswell as central lockin button but not drivers or boot

I've been told the BSI method will cure it? am i doing something wrong? its not working,

What Sue is saying is that Peugeots are very sensitive about their electrics being worked on while live as it can corrupt the BSI. Best option is to disconnect battery using the method on this site before working on any electrical components. You may be lucky and blown a fuse.
Is it a 206 or 206CC? It's not clear which door you replaced either.I'm guessing N/S?
Cheers Col.

Thanks Capncol i learnt that any un-plugging anything while the battery is on is not a good idea!

If you are certain fuses are ok, then check wiring and operation of boot lock solonoid. It may just be coincidence. Did you change the lock barrel back to the original one from dented door?

Looks like the BSI has corrupted. Have you tried a BSI reset as shown on this site?
PP2000 may well show the problem before you start delving too deeply.
Cheers Col.

It sounds as if the key has "learned" the new door and forgotten the original.

I've seen that some cars (Fords?) can be programmed to do this with certain sequences of buttons within the car.
