Roof manual reset

Post by Iannjones »

Having gone through many posts, I still have a problem with my wife's 206cc.. She had a leak from the seal above the drivers door and I wanted to grease up all the roof seals. The roof was lowered and half way, I turned off the power. When I finished, the roof refused to move. I did a manual closure and I cannot get the boot front locks to close and the computer sees a problem.

The car is a 54 reg and we have had absolutely no problems to date. I even tried to reset the computer by removing the shunt fuse but no difference.

Problem, hopefully, is linked to the retractable roof locks. Any ideas would be welcome. Dealer visit is my last option

Firstly, as you have learned, never stop the roof halway through, and if you really must stop it, never ever turn off the ignition. It's much better to do the work on the seals with the roof in the boot and boot lid open. It's a bit fiddly, but much safer.
Removing the shunt fuse won't do anything as the roof has it's own ECU.
I can't understand why you can't latch the roof. Does the roof close properly against the top of the screen?
Cheers Col.

I cannot get the boot front locks to close
I think he means boot closure at end of cycle.

Yep Buggy you are right.
In which case make sure the white hooks are returned to the auto position.
Cheers Col.
