There are two types of fog light: on the CC you'll need the sport version. The mountings are longer than the standard one. Shame you cant just get the glass but that's been the way for many years!

21. Battery and battery clamps need replacement
Cost - New Battery $80, New Battery clamps replacement and installation $35 - total $115

So one of the amazing things about Mexico mechanics is once you get one thing fixed they sometimes break another. I sent the car in to fix my air conditioner and they did an amazing job however somewhere in the process between the two shops my battery was stolen and replaced with a crappy older one leaking battery acid from 2002 -_- argued hard at both mechanics no one would take responsibility everyone saying their shop had great reputations. Im sure this happened right after mechanic because right away my car started having trouble starting up and who steals a battery and replaces yours with an old one? I replaced it and one day my car died in the middle of a busy intersection i popped the hood and noticed my clamps were broken and one had slipped off.

Total Repair cost = 1730

Sorry but I cannot tell from the picture ... both types look similar but are physically different when put side by side.

16. Convertible top comes down 3/4 of the way then makes buzzing noise
Cost -Labor cost and piece, new motherboard (wasent the problem), new hydraulic cables (wasent the problem) Estimated total = $150

All costs covered by previous owner for roof in our contract

We have been trying to fix this problem for a few months now along with the original owner who promised me this would be taken care of when i purchased the car. First we replaced the electric portion of the roof switch its a big boomerang shaped motherboard, then replaced hydralic pipes. Every mechanic and electrician told us something different it was hell. FINALLY we contacted a professional on convertible tops who we sent videos and pictures to and identified the problem. At the end of the movement

"as the roof comes to the end of its cycle it trips a leaver which imobalizes the barrel of the parcel shelf actuator and closes the roof open contactor"

Our leaver was missing! Seems it had ripped or fallen off one way or another. The car is at the mechanics now as I write being replaced. Some images in case you have the same problem.

If your clamps are breaking and/or slipping off the chances are that you may have used the incorrect battery. The one for the 206cc is 190mm tall whereas the one for the 206 hatchback is only 175mm tall. A lot of people make that mistake. Preferably get the correct battery, or, if you must use the shorter one, use a 15mm thick piece of wood as packing underneath it.

Thanks GM, but the reason the clamps were slipping was due to a theft, when they took the old battery off they hit the clamps back into place bending them and breaking on top clip off.

Update: More theft, New paint scratched at mechanics, small fixes.

Convertible top almost completely fixed - $20 labor $10 pieces
Side Mirror border ripped off, reattach and repaint - $15
Chair recline leaver ripped off, re-attach with new screw - $10
Replacement of missing screws under car hood for certain pieces - $10
Diagnosis of STOP alert and check engine alert - $15
New dust filter and antifreeze - $35
------------------------------------------------------------
September 20th update
------------------------------------------------------------
Side window elevator to electronically raise and lower broken, order and install - $100
New Stop switch - $30
CLUTCH ISSUE, Clutch popped in, had to replace pully system - $45
Total - $285

My mechanic today decided to drive my car to me and discuss some issues. They fixed the convertible top he just needs to get a special drill to put the piece in securely right now its "Mexican fixed" he ductaped a black piece so it functions. While fixing the convertible one of the small side mirrors stopped working, a small metal and white plastic pump looking piece that causes it to raise and lower broke, I will have the quote for replacing it this Thursday right now I am manually pushing the side little window up and down.

Also THEFT Brake Light Switch :( FIXED a piece under the dash that apparently signals to your back lights that you are pushing the break and lights them up was stolen. He says it couldn't have fallen off because it is screwed on tight. I noticed my STOP message blinking last week and he says after they ran it through the computer the stop alert was triggered by the piece being gone and not lighting up my break lights. Waiting for him to find a quote on the piece and whether he can locate it (this probably happened at another new mechanic i went to with a good brand name, looks like no matter what the brand is you still get robbed in this country -_-) **the picture above shows where the piece is missing the black circle area is where it would go I am told with a wire contacted to it.

Scratched back of car . While at the mechanic not sure how or what happened but there are many small scratches on the back of the car like either a small animal like raccoon ran over it or they parked it next to a tree and the tree raked over it. The mechanic told me hes certain he can polish it and take it off and hell take care of it. Scratches aren't too deep but still not sure if its fixable.
Also other little changes to car were made repaired some things..

3. Key locking system needs replacement, buttons don't work need to lean over and lock passenger door before closing both doors and locking my own

Key Chip $10, 2 car motors, friends discount charged only the motors cost not labor 30x2 $60
Total $70

Took it to a friends uncles shop he does speakers and security systems he replaced both door motors and a fried chip in the key, before the doors were not doing anything when the buttons were pushed. After chip they were making noises but not locking or closing, after motors everything is fine.

Current Car repair total - 1905 + 70 = 1975

Hi Tyealia,

Are the prices you are quoting in Mexican Pesos or in USD?

Hi Edmund, I converted all these prices to USD at a 11.5 exchange rate. But they are based on original Mexican prices and considering repair work is very cheap down here for manual labor they may be far lower than anything in the UK, just a guess.

So to answer your question again, yes they are in USD

Interesting, in real terms the prices you pay in Mexico are 43% cheaper than in the UK!
