Ok so about 3 months ago the battery was changed in my 206.
The stock stereo worked fine for a few days and then one day just stopped. I checked if it might be a code problem, but of course the stock CD stereo's don't need codes because they are registered to the engine.
It still displays information (Radio stations, volume, CD tracks etc) on the head unit, it still spins CD's and the steering controls still work but absolutely no sound is coming out of the speakers.
I've checked the ISO connections on the back, checked all the fuses in the drivers side, and under bonnet fusebox's. I've taken it out, put it back in, looked through the Haynes manual, but NOTHING.
I figure there might be a speaker divider block somewhere hidden in the car but honestly, I don't know.
Please help, you're my only hope!
No sound going to the speakers

Re: No sound going to the speakers
Does it have a JBL amp in the boot? Someone recently bought a 206 CC and theirs was missing one - probably been eBayed! If you have an amp, perhaps its fuse blew when the battery was changed.
That would mean the CD/radio would be working fine, but the amp wouldn't be passing the signals through to the speakers, which sounds exactly like your issue.

Re: No sound going to the speakers
Just a quick question - where is the JBL amp fuse located? I've just had my gear box replaced >gulp< and am having the same problem as the OP - full 'visuals' but no actual sound!
Thanks in advance.

Edit:
I took it to 'our' garage. 10mm bolts removed - amp not moving. Teeth sucking, scratching of head, two phone calls... 45minutes later stereo still not working. "Apparently it's a common problem - roof seal leaks and water gets into the Amp" said garage man. This was hard to believe as it was practically the only thing working on the car when it was towed to the garage & by their own admission it had been under cover awaiting the new gearbox! And there was absolutely no sign of water ingress...
Wife took it to an Audio specialist, in Malton, "...never heard of that happening [fuse blowing on battery change], don't usually have [a separate] one [fuse]..." taps car details in his PC "...mmm, seems they do..."
2min job, new fuse - £2 fitted
(underside of a *big bundle of wires - in the engine compartment, under a cover, next to the 'rubber cover with wipers on it' - as the wife tells it)
I still can't find anything in the manual referencing this though.
*And for the record she says it was a
BIG BUNDLE!
Thanks in advance.
