anyone local to try there mfd (206)

hi

just wondering if there is anyone local to me so i can try their 206 mfd in my car, basically my backlights dont work on my mfd and before buying a new one i want to rule out any other potential problems. I have checked bulbs and fuses and still no luck.

If the bulbs work, then check the pins that connect the two circuit boards together. They develop dry joints and come away from the boards. A small soldering iron usually can fix this.

I had this when we bought a replacement. The new one worked fine until the first pothole ... then when out. I found some info on 206info.co.uk and followed that.

Carefully take the MFD apart and check.

hi mate thanks for your reply, i have checked over all the board and everything seems fine cant find any dry joint/loose solder, i think i damaged the board trying to fit leds, they work for 30 seconds then went out i think i have damaged some component on the board.

Have you checked the three pins that join the two boards to each other at 90 degrees?

The pins come off and stay stuck in the plug/socket on the display board.


LEDs shouldn't blow it but I've not tried ... I had a supply of the small pea bulbs to hand so just swapped them over.
