I have the same issue. It used to work, but now doesnt.

I'm suspecting the micro switch built in to the boot lid latch. There are 2 switches in there, one for the roof control and the other I for the light (I think)

Probably worth checking those if the bulb isn't the issue.

K
As long as water isn't falling out of the sky, the roof can be down.

My boot light comes on whenever I open the boot, regardless of lights setting. Check your bulb first.

It was the light switch inside the striker plate sticking.

After a spray with WD40 and a bit of jiggleing (i think that is the corect tecnical term) it freed up and works fine now !

Well done pete.

Whilst we are on the subject of boots. Should the rear section which has the striker catch have some carpet on it? Mine looks unfinished/bare. I wonder if I'm missing a bit of trim.

All like that ... CCs and Hatchbacks.

BTW The standard wheel brace is designed to clip in the right hand hole ... which is one reasons it is kept unhidden.

Does look a bit unfinished though.
You would have thought they would have put a cover there like at the sides with acces holes like behind the lights and this would only have added about £5 on the overall cost...!

Yes it does look odd. But I'm the only one who looks in the boot so it doesn't worry me now I know it's supposed to be like that.

The total production run of the 206 was about 8 million. Multiply that by £5 :yikes:

(Ok I know that only a proportion were CC's but pennies matter in volume production)

The manufactures would have passed trhe cost on to the buyer and when people spend 1000's on the car then 100's more on the additional extras, an extra few quid on top would have been a rain drop in the ocean.

I know it cant be seen but i think with the effort spent on designing and building such a nice looking motor, this is an oversite, and a bit of a poor show !

They are French ... wait until you try and change the cambelt (if you do your own maintenance). No spare room for your hands ...
