clutch cable

hi i had a clutch cable fitted to my peugeot 206 1.1 on saturday bt the bite on the clutch seems really high, it takes a while for it to get into gear. The mechanic who put it on said that it will adjust in time but i find that hard to believe. I cannot drive the car like this, its quite difficult. Getting it into 1st and 2nd gear teh car revvs loads before it gets into gear. any advise?

Take it back and make them do the job properly!

PS This is a CC forum, so we don't have the 1.1 engines ...
