Main beam problem

Post by ecurb.renots »

My 2005 Pug 206cc has just developed a fault which is puzzling me, the headlight main beam will not stay on, they flash and when the stem is moved they come on but go off when the lever is released. I have changed the com2000 unit but the problem persists. Is there a relay out somewhere or ?

Need a solution as the mot is due next week please help, any ideas as it really getting to me and com units are not cheap.

If it was a relay, fuse or bulbs, then they would not "come on but go off when the lever is released" They just wouldn't work. Do they stay on until stalk is released? Was it a new Comm 2000 unit?
Other thing to try would be a BSI reset.
Cheers Col.

No it was not a new unit but I saw it working before it was removed. They come on when the stalk is operated but will not stay on when the stalk is released. I will try a BSI reset today to see if that helps.
