Hi All,
It's very very very hot out there!!! My Peugeot206cc air con was blowing hot air instead of cold, someone suggested me to go for air con regasing. I took the car to a nearest garage and got the job done and paid but the mechanic told me it's done but it only blows cold air for 1 min then hot air again. He didn't know what's wrong and as i was only paying for the regasing so they didn't find out what was the problem.
I bought my car from a used garage in October last year so I didn't use the air con at all but sure it was working when i bought it.
Could anyone advise me what's likely the problem and possible way to resolve it. Hopefully not a costly job.
Thank you all.

Re: Air Conditioning
Could be a number of things but most likely a leak. You need to take it a specialist who do a full pressure check with dye and use a uv lamp to find it.
And a/c can't just be charged/filled. It has to be purgex using a vacuum pump and recharged with a specific amount. To much or too little and it will not work.

Re: Air Conditioning
Thank you gazza82, The mechanic told me there's no leak they have checked already that's why he didn't know why it's only blowing 1 min cold then hot again.
I parked the car in the afternoon then started it again an hour later. It blew out cold air in the beginning then no cold air but warm air again. Very very frustrating (:
It's too hot without air conditioning........

Re: Air Conditioning
It's good practice to run a/c at least once a month to keep the system working and the seals lubricated etc: (same thing with the roof)
What system hame you got, basic or climate control?

Re: Air Conditioning problem
I have a 206 cc Allure 2.0 i believe it's climate control I keep the auto on whenever i have the system on when it's winter. Off before the summer as the roof down it's cool enough. Now it's very hot in the summer i have to have the air con on. It's been blowing warm air before so i thought it's some kind of coolant refill needed so went to nearby garage to get this done.
They told me how much and i came back after an hour. Now not sure if i could ask them to redo or get it fixed. Problem is i paid for regasing and that was done. I don't think i can ask for more.
So what should i do now, it works for 1 min cold then warm air out again. Very very frustrating.
Apprecicate any advice?
Thank you. c

Re: Air Conditioning
If it's climate control, then the interior temp sensor may have packed up.

Re: Air Conditioning
An a/c specialist wouldn't waste your money without checking for leaks first.
Chain garages .. Diferent story.

Re: Air Conditioning
Just looked at their card, yes they are chain, they said they have checked there's no leak.
What should i do, can they fix it or it's a big job that requires specialist? Where can i go to get this done, i can't afford to keep running around diff garages and they just say leave the car with us!
Thank you all. c

They will say that ... but if it stops working so soon after my money is on a leak.convertiblefan wrote:Just looked at their card, yes they are chain, they said they have checked there's no leak.

For a/c I'd say yes unless you saw theym running the checks. You only have their word for it. More likely they simply pumped in some more coolant without running any checks.
It can be something as simple as a split pipe, bad joint, or the condenser (like a small radiator). Try a google search or even yell.co.uk ... there are mobile ones too.
